It is high time for an update. The last few months have been filled with researching the best immigration options for myself (Sherayah) and filing and preparing paperwork for both our daughters and myself. This last Monday March 5 our girls were officially recognized as American citizens born abroad and we submitted their applications for American passports. This felt like such a success and relief for me knowing our girls’ paperwork is complete and taken care of. I affectionately call them ‘Duallies’ since now they are both Canadian and American.
My paperwork has been more complicated and tedious. I filed for a Spouse Visa in the beginning of February so now I wait for a response and further direction. The hope is that my Visa will come before the end of August, 2018 so that we can move down to Oroville, CA as planned.
Our time at Camp Arnes is quickly approaching it’s end. We move out of our house here at camp in 2 ½ weeks. Max will work here until the end of March and will drive down to Colorado in the beginning of April, with the girls and I flying down shortly after. I will be going down to Colorado as a visitor so no visa will be needed then.
It has been an emotional and stressful few months for me. I am so excited about what God has planned for us, while at the same time I am extremely sad to leave. There is not a doubt in my mind that Max and I are making the right decision to move to Oroville. However, I didn’t realize just how sad I was too leave all the people that mean so much to me and that I love so dearly. I’m learning that following Jesus doesn’t mean that there isn’t pain or sadness. I know that He understands, He knows, and He walks with me as I learn to listen to His voice and do the things He asks me to do. I have so much peace in knowing this.
Max and I got some very exciting news today. Some of you may know that our youngest daughter Arrow had an abnormally fast heart rate while in utero. I was prescribed a heart medication while pregnant to control her heart rate. She spent 5 days in the NICU after she was born to monitor her heart rate as the medication metabolized out of her body. She was sent home with instructions for me to monitor her heart rate three times a day. She had a heart test done about a month ago. We got the results today and the test came back completely clear of any arrhythmia. This means no more monitoring her heart rate, no more cardiologist appointments, and a whole lot of praising Jesus for showing his love to us in this way; healing our baby girl.
We had such cool opportunity to tell Jovie, who is almost 2 years old, that all the prayers she prayed for her baby sister, before and after Arrow was born, were answered. We got to tell her that Jesus hears us, He cares, and that He chose to demonstrate His love for us by healing her baby sister. We are so incredibly thankful.
More updates to follow as we transition from Camp Arnes, to Colorado, and finally to Oroville.
