Common Questions Answered

We wanted to clarify three common questions that we are asked frequently pertaining to our California move. We invite questions and comments because we want you to join us on our journey.

1. When are you going?

Before we make the move to Oroville, California we plan to spend a few months in Colorado with Max’s family. Max has served 9 summers in a row at Camp Arnes so we are treating this time in Colorado as a sabbatical. We don’t know the exact dates but we hope to head over there in April 2018 and then come back in August 2018 for a few weeks to spend time with friends and family here. Our big move to Oroville will take place at the end of August in time for Max to start the School of Ministry in September.

2. Is Max still working at Camp Arnes?

The answer is yes. We love Camp Arnes and we want to leave camp in a good place when we move. Max will be working here up until we move to ensure a smooth transition. We are incredibly thankful for Dixie and Erica who are taking over for Max and are excited to see how they will take summer camp to the next level.

3. Is Sherayah going to work as a nurse while in the states?

At this time I do not plan to work as a nurse in the states. We are making a huge life change and we want it to different from what we are doing now. Both Max and I are looking forward to be doing the same thing and working toward a common goal.

The deadline for my nursing license renewal was December 1 and I made the decision to not renew. This was a very bittersweet decision for me as I’m sad to leave that part of my life but I am excited for this next chapter as well. Going back to nursing is a possibility in the future. I trust that the Lord will guide us and show us when and if it is the right time.
